Golf Course Lift Station and 7th Street NW Upgrade

High Country Drive Road Closure Update: May 22, 2020 Update (PDF)

On April 28, eastbound lanes in this area will be closed to prepare the road for construction beginning May 11. Remaining lanes will be signed as two-way alternating traffic.

Starting May 25, 2020, a portion of High Country Drive will be closed again to traffic from 7th Street NW to access into the commercial development just west of Centre Street. The area affected is:

• High Country Drive from 7th Street NW to the access into the commercial development just west of Centre Street
• Hours of work are expected to be from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m. but the closures will be in effect until this project is completed.

This road closure is necessary to construct a sanitary sewer line between Eagleview and the new NW lift station at 7th Street NW and High Country Drive. Detour routes will be posted. This work is expected to take approximately 45 – 65 working days as long as weather cooperates. Please drive carefully around work crews and obey all traffic directions. Residents and businesses in the area have been advised of additional accommodations during this project.

This project has two parts:

  1. Replacement of the NW Lift Station (NWLS)
  2. Construction of a gravity sanitary sewer line between Eagleview Lift Station and the new NWLS. This will allow for the decommissioning and removal of both the Eagleview and Wallaceville Lift Stations.

Replacement of the NW Lift Station

The existing lift station is proposed to be replaced by a new lift station located at the SE corner of High Country Drive and 7th Street SW. Once this is completed, the existing NW lift station will be removed. The work will involve the construction of the new lift station and tie ins and extensions to sanitary lines. This will affect portions of High Country Drive and 7th Street NW.

Construction of a gravity sanitary sewer line between Eagleview and the new NWLS

A new underground sanitary sewer line is proposed from the existing Eagleview Lift Station to the relocated NW Lift Station. The alignment of this line has not yet been confirmed. The work will affect portions of Centre Street and High Country Drive.

Both projects are currently being designed with more details in the near future. Construction is tentatively projected to begin the late summer/fall of 2019.

Updates on this project will be posted to the major project map at www.highriver.ca
