During the winter months the Bob Snodgrass Recreation Complex features two ice arenas and offers both drop-in and registered programs throughout each week. Programs include public skate times, lessons, shinny, figure skating and hockey. In the summer months the ice is removed from the arenas and they can be used for dry-land sports or other group events.
The large arena includes a 200′ x 85′ artificial ice surface, seating for 700 and is home of the:
- Junior “B Flyers
- Foothills Minor Hockey
- Foothills Bison AA
- High River Figure Skating Club
- High River Heat Lacrosse
There is also a practice arena sized at 145′ x 56′ with a viewing area for 30 spectators.
For your safety and enjoyment helmets (CSA approved) are required for all participants during ice activity and in particular for children and youth. Ice cleats and helmets are also required for those without skates, while on the ice surface. No strollers or sleds are allowed on the ice.
If you are interested in booking either of the arenas for your team or event please email ParkandRec-Bookings@highriver.ca
