Centre Street Road Closure Beginning Evening of May 24
HIGH RIVER, AB: -Starting the evening of Sunday May 24, Centre Street will be closed from 2nd Avenue SE to 4th Avenue SE as work begins to upgrade underground utilities, including water and sanitary lines.
Customer access to the businesses along Centre Street will be maintained while the work is underway. Detours will be put in place and, where needed, alternate access routes will be constructed.
This will be the first of three closures along Centre Street between 2nd Avenue Se and 7th Avenue SE.
Work on the initial phase is expected to be completed by July 10 barring unforeseen circumstances, and weather permitting
> Phase 2 of the project will require the closure of Centre Street from 4th Avenue SE to 6th Avenue SE.
> The third phase will see a closure of Centre Street from 6th Avenue SE to 7th Avenue SE.
> The estimated completion date for all three phases is mid-September.
Drivers and pedestrians are asked to watch for flag persons who will be on scene to direct residents safely around any open excavation sites. Speed limits on Centre Street will be reduced to 30 km. There will be large trucks and heavy equipment traveling to and from and working in the area. Thank you for your patience during this major infrastructure project.
