Early morning collision causes closure of Macleod Trail at 6 Street S.W.
HIGH RIVER, AB: A vehicle was involved in a collision with a power pole this morning on Macleod Trail at 6 Street S.W.
There is significant damage to the power pole and a nearby residential garage and the High River Fire Department and other emergency crews are continuing to respond on-site.
The driver of the vehicle was taken by ambulance to High River hospital, but no injuries have been reported.
Crews from Fortis Alberta are working to repair the downed power line with more resources and equipment inbound.
For safety purposes, Macleod Trail S.W. will be closed to vehicle and pedestrian traffic between 6 and 7 Street for approximately two to four hours. Crews anticipate being able to open the road to traffic before 3:30 p.m.
Please use caution when travelling through the area and obey all signage and directions from emergency crews.
