The Town of High River is currently accepting property tax exemption applications from any registered non-profit organizations within the municipality.

Did you know there is a program for tax exemptions for community organizations?

  • All properties in municipalities are subject to local assessment and taxation.
  • Tax exemptions can apply to property owned or used by non-profit organizations providing services related to government, education, charity, religion, culture, and historic preservation.
  • The Municipal Government Act provides some tax exemptions to qualifying properties that reflect social values, accessibility and that benefit the public with their use.

Deadlines for the 2024 Tax Year, following COPTER regulations:

  • New applications must be received no later than September 30, 2023.
  • COPTER RENEWAL reminders will be mailed with a response time noted in the renewal notice.
