Since 1906 the High River Fire Department has been serving our community with Pride, Professionalism, Honour & Integrity.

The High River Fire Department strives to operate as effectively and efficiently as possible while maintaining what is most important; the safety of our firefighters and those who live, work and visit the Town of High River.
The Town's Fire Department operates with a Chief, Deputy Chief - Fire, Deputy Chief - Bylaw and Emergency Services, Administrative Assistant, 4 Captains, 6 Full-time firefighters, one part-time Inspector and 34 casual firefighters, and we provide 24-hour service to the community & surrounding area.
Mission
The High River Fire Department is dedicated to providing fire suppression, prevention, public education and rescue services as our part in preserving and enhancing the quality of life by aiding in providing a safe community for our residents, businesses, and environment.
Fire Protection Bylaw
The purpose of the Fire Protection Bylaw is to authorize the prevention and control of fires and authorize the imposition and recovery of related fees, expenses, and charges.

Recruitment & Training
What do I need to know to apply?
Before you apply, you must:
- Be at least 18 years of age.
- Be a Canadian citizen or permanent resident.
- Have at least a High School diploma or equivalency
- Have a valid Class 5 driver’s license with less than six demerit points and no current or pending suspensions.
