Experience the Small Town Magic of a High River Christmas
Come watch one of the only night-time Christmas Parades in North America

HIGH RIVER, ALBERTAEvery year people come from far and wide to experience Christmas in High River. This year, the 33rd Annual Santa Clause Parade takes place on Friday, December 6 at 6:30 p.m. with almost 100 floats expected. Streets will be closed so pedestrians can enjoy the parade, unique local shopping and holiday markets throughout the evening.

“High River does the holidays right, and we love to share our warm small town hospitality with visitors to our beautiful community” says Mayor Craig Snodgrass. “People can find a great blend of tradition and nostalgia with unique local shopping and holiday markets throughout the season. On parade night, Santa even stops by the Museum for photos. Combine all of this with hot chocolate booths and delicious food, and there is truly something for everyone.”

Official lighting ceremonies are scheduled for 5:00 p.m. at George Lane Park downtown. Plan to arrive early for the parade, as the downtown streets will close to parking and traffic at 4:00 p.m. Stay late to enjoy the lighting displays, evening shopping, traditional ice skating and a meal. Many people plan a weekend trip to enjoy the festivities.
