CSS Resource Centre Open to Public by Appointment

HIGH RIVER, AB: The Town’s Family and Community Support Services Resource Centre has re-opened, by appointment, to the public.
All necessary adaptations to the office have been completed and safety requirements are in place. All residents attending for appointments will be asked to self-screen for symptoms of COVID-19. Hand sanitizer and masks will be available, if necessary.
Community members may start booking appointments by using the contact information below. The FCSS Resource Centre offers information, support and referrals for community resources and government services.

Face Masks for Seniors: 

Free face masks are available for seniors at the Family and Community Support Services office in Charles Clark Medical Centre.
If you are a senior and unable to get to the FCSS office, you can call to make arrangements for the masks delivered to your home. Please call 403-652-8620.
The face masks are provided by the Masks for Albertans program initiated by the Alberta government.

High River’s Family and Community Support Services (FCSS) is a partnership between the Province of Alberta, the Town of High River, and the MD of Foothills to provide preventive social programs in our community. Local autonomy is a foundation of the FCSS philosophy which supports local programs to develop services that meet unique needs of individual communities. FCSS provides and supports a variety of social programs to positively affect the quality of life of our residents.

  • FCSS Resource Centre
  • Provides information, support and referrals for community resources and government services
  • Provides application forms (and assistance with paperwork when needed) for Affordable Housing, Income Support, AISH, Old Age Security, Canada Pension, Alberta Seniors, Health Care, etc.
  • Copy and fax forms for services
  • Commissioner for Oaths available
  • Income tax preparation (income based) through the Volunteer Income Tax Program
  • FCSS Referral and Resource Guide
  • Supports for Seniors
  • Seniors Independent Living Assistance Program (income based program for subsidized housekeeping and transportation to out of town medical appointments)
  • Assistance to complete forms and benefit applications
  • Seniors Resource Book
  • Information on retirement and seniors benefits
  • Cycling Without Age program
  • Community Connection
  • Coordinate the High River Block Party Program
  • Coordinate Senior Tea’s / Lunches
  • Co-host Community Cafes
  • Support the Community Vitality Fund
  • Coordinate and host the High River Interagency Meetings

  • Volunteers provide snow shoveling through the Snow Angel Program
  • Volunteers provide transportation for seniors for out of town medical appointments
