George Lane Memorial Park

The jewel in High River’s crown. Heavily treed, it features a baseball diamond, events stage, horseshoe pits, a playground, community picnic areas, and a campground that is run by the Lions Club.

The George Lane Park Campground was awarded “Campground of the Year” by the Southwest Service and Tourism group in Oct, 2017 

The Lion’s Club Campground – open May 4 to Sept 30

For information about bookings at George Lane Campground, booking the public fire pits, or booking the Bandstand (covered stage), call 403-652-2529 and leave a message. When the park opens in the spring, all messages are returned. Information is available on the Lion’s Club website or via email

Please note, the washrooms in George Lane Park are seasonal facilities that are open during the same dates as the campground

Parks Access Permits

If members of the public and/or contractors require vehicle or other access to the Town’s parks or green spaces, they will need to complete a Parks and Green spaces Right of Way Access Permit.

Unauthorized access includes driving, parking or encroaching on rights of way, boulevards, parks and green spaces for the purpose of moving, construction, parking, or any other activity using a vehicle or piece of equipment.  If damage occurs, the damaged area must be returned to pre-existing conditions and to the satisfaction of the Town of High River.
