HIGH RIVER, AB: Sections of High Country Drive will be closed to traffic starting the week of May 25 as work gets underway to decommission a sanitary main between the Northwest and Eagleview Estates.
During this project, there will be three phases of road closures:
> Phase 1 starting the week of May 25 – High Country Drive will be closed to all traffic from 7th Street NW to the access road into the business area.
> Phase 2 – The westbound lanes of High Country Drive will be closed from the business access road east to Centre Street.
> Phase 3 – the eastern section of High Country Drive will remain closed from Phase 2, with the added closure of Centre Street from south of the rodeo grounds to 1st Avenue SE.
Signage will be in place 24 hours before each closure stage. Detours will be clearly marked as needed along 7th Street NW, Centre Street, and 498 Avenue East.
Due to the nature of the work, the contractor advises that there is a small chance of a short interruption to services. If a longer interruption is necessary, residents and businesses nearby will be advised in advance. It is also expected that the work will cause vibrations to be felt within the immediate area.
The sanitary main decommissioning project is scheduled to be completed in August 2020, weather permitting.
