Interim Dike Spring Maintenance Begins April 20 Along 12th Ave SW
Town Pressing Forward with SW Berm Completion as Planned in 2020
HIGH RIVER AB – Work to provide services and maintain infrastructure carries on in High River even while the Town responds to the COVID-19 pandemic. Starting next week, crews from Contour Construction will begin annual spring maintenance on the interim dike along 12 Avenue SW.
“Completion of the SW Berm is a Council priority and we are pressing forward with the project as planned,” says Mayor Craig Snodgrass. “The protection and safety of our residents is always important, whether it is to complete this final berm, or to continue urging everyone to follow all health precautions to help stop the spread of COVID-19.”
The bags, which form the interim dike, will remain in place, and will be maintained until the berm construction is finished.
Crews will replace and arrange bags in the following areas:
- Along 12th Avenue west of the roundabout to the Town boundary
- On the former CP lands south of 12th Avenue
While work is occurring, there may be minor traffic interruptions. Please drive carefully in this area and obey all signs and directions for the safety of work crews.
