Beaver control necessary to protect important trees and property

HIGH RIVER, AB: With spring here, beavers are back at their busy work, which unfortunately can lead to both property damage and safety issues. The Town has identified a particularly troubling location where beavers will need to be humanely removed.
Because this location is a highly travelled area the work to remove the beavers will take place in the early mornings over the coming few weeks. A professional company, Animal Damage Control, will visit the location regularly to carry this task out in a humane and professional manner.
The Town will monitor the location regularly to ensure there is no further risk to property as a result of beaver activity.
High River’s first priority is public safety. Beavers are only removed in areas that they are posing a risk. Please do not approach the Animal Damage Control professionals while they are at work, and keep dogs on a leash in all designated on leash areas to prevent interference with the trapping process.
