Flood Gate Testing – Sunday, May 4, 2025:

High River's Centre Street flood gate is crucial in protecting our community from flood emergencies. To ensure it remains fully functional, Town crews will test the floodgate on Sunday, May 4, 2025, from 4:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m.

Temporary Closures:

  • Centre Street Bridge (including the pedestrian sidewalk)
  • The intersection of Centre Street & Macleod Trail (barricades in place)
  • Centre Street at High Country Drive (barricades in place)

What You Need to Know:

  • Plan alternate routes during testing.
  • The town will test the gate's manual opening feature and complete maintenance work during this year's closure.

  • Respect all barriers to ensure the safety of workers and the public.

We appreciate everyone's patience as we take the essential steps to keep High River protected.
