Family & Community Support Services – Downtown Information Booth

HIGH RIVER, AB: A new Information Booth is being located downtown that will provide information about the Town’s Family and Community Support Services (FCSS.) It will be located on the southeast corner of 3rd Avenue SW and 1st Street SW. At the Information Booth, residents will find information on basic resources available in the community such as where to access food, shelter, and clothing,
The goal of the Information Booth is to reach residents who do not have access to typical media outlets such as the Town website or social media. The FCSS Board, led by Gillian Cropper, took an interest in exploring a variety of solutions to connect those in need with local resources and focused their efforts to make the Information Booth a reality.
A huge thank you to Homes by Dream, Wegener Homes and Akron Roofing for donating building supplies, time, and talents to construct the Information Booth.
At its meeting on September 14, Council approved locating the Booth at the corner of 3rd Avenue SW and 1st Street SW. A team of FCSS Board members and staff have committed to managing and maintaining the Information Booth.
The Information Booth is expected to be in place in October. It is designed to resemble a phone booth and will be a nice addition to our downtown.
