COVID-19 Notice
Positive Case of COVID-19 Results in Temporary Closures of Town Hall and Bob Snodgrass Recreation Centre

High River AB –  A Town of High River employee has tested positive for COVID-19. As a result,  the Town has closed the Joint Administration Building on Macleod Trail and the Bob Snodgrass Recreation Centre, effective December 8 at 4:00 pm until further notice.
Both facilities are being cleaned and sanitized before being reopened to the public. We will provide updates about these facilities reopening on the Town website and through social media. While these facilities are closed for cleaning, Town staff will work remotely. While all programs and activities at the BSRC are cancelled, virtual activities will carry on – please follow the Town’s Parks and Recreation Facebook page for details. All other Town services to the community will continue without interruption.
To follow safe and transparent reporting practices, the Town is informing staff and providing information to anyone who may have been in close contact with this individual. Individuals who have been in close contact with this employee will isolate for 14 days and schedule a test for COVID-19 before returning to the workplace. We are also working to support Alberta Health Services & Occupational Health & Safety if there are additional measures that need to be taken.
We remind everyone that a provincial public health order is currently in place requiring the mandatory use of face masks in all public spaces. In addition, everyone is reminded to physically distance and use proper handwashing techniques to help prevent the spread of COVID-19.
The Town is committed to keeping our employees and the community informed. As numbers continue to rise in High River and elsewhere in Alberta, the health and safety of High River is the Town’s top priority. We wish this individual the best for a safe and speedy recovery. For confidentiality and out of respect of the privacy of our employee, updates will only be posted should additional information be available.
