Noise Control

The Town of High River Noise Bylaw 3348/81 regulates noise related to motor vehicles; commercial & industrial businesses; construction sites; plus residential irritants such as barking dogs, lawn mowing and snow removal.  The intent of the bylaw is that ‘all noise shall be reduced as far as possible compatible with the normal activities of urban life and that unnecessary noise be eliminated.’

In residential areas, noise levels are restricted between the hours of:

  • 10 p.m. to 8 a.m. – Monday to Saturday
  • 10 p.m. to 9 a.m. – Sunday & Holidays

Note: Construction workers are allowed to start at 7 a.m.
