Town Notice: Town Employee Tests Positive for COVID-19

High River– On December 12, 2020, the Town of High River learned that an employee has tested positive for COVID-19. This staff member had no contact with the public or fellow staff members through their work duties. This individual was not in the workplace at the onset of symptoms and the facility where this person works is not open to the public.
To follow safe and transparent reporting practices, the Town is informing staff and providing information to anyone who may have been in close contact with this individual. Individuals who have been in close contact with this employee will follow testing and isolation requirements as set out by the Province of Alberta. We are also working to support Alberta Health Services & Occupational Health & Safety if there are additional measures that need to be taken.
Out of an abundance of caution, the affected facility has been cleaned and sanitized. This case does not affect any Town facilities open to the public, and current services will continue.
The Town is following the province’s public health order by reducing the number of employees in the workplace. All employees must wear face masks and follow strict protocols in Town facilities. We remind all visitors to Town Hall and to any public facility that the province has ordered mandatory use face masks in all public spaces. Please remember to physically distance and use proper handwashing techniques to help prevent the spread of COVID-19.
