Town of High River to Start Tree Planting Season
HIGH RIVER: The Town of High River Parks and Rec staff have started planting a variety of new trees throughout the town. A total of 105 trees are to be planted over a two-day period. These trees will also feature different varieties of fruit bearing trees.
These fruit bearing trees will be the newest additions to the Harvest High River program. The program is designed to provide community members with access to fresh produce from the Town’s edible trees and shrubs.
The tree planting will begin in George Lane Park and will make its way through the town stopping at 46 different locations. Residents may experience minor traffic detours within the park over the two-day planting period. Residents are asked to keep their distance from the planters and follow all safety requirements.
The Town of High River Parks staff will continue to maintain and update the natural elements of the town. The team will continue to add fresh new trees yearly.
