HIGH RIVER – The Town of High River wishes everyone a safe and enjoyable Victoria Day long weekend! Here’s what to expect around Town:

Facility Closures – Monday, May 19, 2025:

In observance of Victoria Day, the following Town facilities will close on Monday, May 19 and reopen on Tuesday, May 20:

  • Town Office
  • Family and Community Support Services (FCSS)
  • Family Centre
  • Public Works Administration
  • Fire & RCMP Administration Offices
  • Bob Snodgrass Recreation Complex
  • High River Recycling Centre

Garbage collection will continue as scheduled, and emergency services will remain operational. For more information on recycling, visit highriver.ca/recycling.

Little Britches Parade – Saturday, May 17:

Get ready for one of High River’s most beloved events—the Little Britches Parade returns on Saturday, May 17, hosted by the High River Parade & Light Society!

  • Parade Time: 10:00 a.m. – 12:30 p.m.
  • Food Trucks: Stationed in the parking lot next to the Museum of the Highwood —perfect for a parade-day treat!
  • Parade-Day Traffic Info:
    • Road closures and no-parking zones in the downtown area begin at 8:30 a.m.
    • 1 Street, from 12 Avenue SW to Macleod Trail SW, will be closed to traffic.
    • Volunteers and signage will help direct traffic; detours will be in place.
    • All closures are expected to be lifted by 3:00 p.m.
