Strategic Priorities and Plan
High River residents benefit from Council's focus on strategic planning and priority-setting to ensure Town projects contribute to long-term goals and vision, ensuring a positive future for generations to come!
Strategic Priorities
Town Council sets Strategic Priorities supported by a 'Work Program" to ensure the achievement of the set priorities. These priorities help to set Town budgets and annual capital and operating plans. They are reviewed every quarter or more often as required—as priorities are completed, other priorities move up the list, working alongside the Chief Administrative Officer and Senior Leadership Team.
Council's Strategic Priorities: January 8, 2025
Strategic Plan
The Strategic Plan helps guide decisions and plans as the town works to provide services and programs for High River residents.
- OUR WHY - "Making a positive difference now for generations to come."
- OUR WHAT - "People are the core of all we do."
- OUR HOW - "Think and act in these ways to realize our why."
The five pillars of the plan are:
- Vibrant Community
- Safety & Security
- Organizational Excellence
- Healthy Urban Environment
- Responsible Development
These pillars are referenced in all requests for decisions at Council meetings to ensure alignment with the five pillars and the Council's vision and long-term goals.
