Proclamations, Days of Observance & Lighting up Town Hall

The Mayor and Council of High River regularly issue proclamations to honour significant local, provincial and federal occasions or days of observation. Illumination and flag-raising requests may also be made.

Council recognizes and celebrates provincial and national holidays, stands together on days of remembrance or recognition, and raises awareness for non-political community causes and local events.

Illuminating Town Hall

The LED lights at Town Hall will display the requested colour beginning at dusk. The lights remain visible overnight, from dusk to dawn.

  • World Cancer Day - Light purple | Feb. 4 
  • Wear Red Canada Day - Red | Feb. 13
  • Valentines Day - Red | Feb. 14
  • Family Day - Green | Feb. 16
  • Lunar New Year - Red | Feb. 17
  • Kin Canada Day - Red | Feb. 20
  • Pink Shirt Day - Pink | Feb. 25
