High River & District Chamber of Commerce is a voluntary organization comprised of business owners who invest their time and money in the business community. These committed members work to improve the economic, civic and cultural well-being of the area throughout the year by directing programs aimed at improving the quality of the business community.

McBride Career Group Inc. began their work with unemployed Albertans in 1989, and has continually expanded services to present specialization in career consulting, employment support, occupational training, and professional development.

McBride Career Group offers workshops to learn the latest skills and tools for job search and career planning. Career Coaches are available for cover letter/resume critique and development, employment counselling and academic advising. Access to public computers, local job postings and labour market news are also available in the centre.

Employers and business owners are always welcome to utilize McBride office space and seek assistance with hiring and retention strategies. McBride will host mini Job Fairs on site or encourage local businesses to participate in the annual Career and Employment Expo.

Foothills Advocacy in Motion Society

Foothills Advocacy in Motion Society is proud to support adults with developmental disabilities in High River, Okotoks and Strathmore. We assist our individuals to live independently or with care providers as well as support them through day programs by helping them find and maintain meaningful employment.

FAIM works with individuals to prepare them for the workforce, and to provide them with the skills and knowledge needed to excel in their job. Once an individual enters the workforce, they are supported by a FAIM job coach who attends the jobsite with them at no additional cost to the employer. The job coach provides guidance, mentorship, and helps to instill a strong work ethic.

In order to qualify for FAIM services, an individual must first secure funding through Persons with Developmental Disabilities (PDD). Upon approval, individuals are encouraged to contact the FAIM intake coordinator Sherry Toomey at sherry@faims.org.
