The Town of High River is committed to keeping residents, businesses, and visitors informed about road closures that may affect travel throughout the community.
Road closure information will be updated as details become available. Residents and businesses directly affected by significant closures will be notified whenever possible.
Please slow down, follow all posted signage, and allow extra travel time when travelling near closure areas.
High River Stampede Breakfast
- Reason: Event
- Closure Dates: Saturday, July 25, 2026
- Closure Times: 8 a.m. to 5 p.m.
- Traffic Impact: George Lane Park & sanitary dump closure
- Location: George Lane Park
- Description: Pancakes, sausages and live entertainment! Live music, line dancing, soap box chuckwagon races, pancake eating challenge, chilli cook-off, drum circle, train robbery and more! More information: hrbreakfast.ca.
Power Pole Change - Fortis Alberta
- Reason: Construction
- Closure Dates: Monday, July 27, 2026
- Closure Times: 8:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m.
- Traffic Impact: Alternating one-way traffic & sidewalk closure.
- Location: 2 Avenue SE, east of the canal.
- Description: External crews will be replacing and repairing power poles on the south side of 2 Avenue SE. Alternating traffic will be in effect, with flaggers on site to direct vehicles safely through the work zone. Pedestrians will be detoured to the pathway on the north side of 2 Avenue NE, with an alternate route available through Sunshine Place and Sunshine Lake.

Film Notice
- Reason: Film
- Closure Dates: Thursday, July 30 to Saturday, August 1, 2026.
- Closure Times: 8 a.m. to 9 p.m. (July 30 & 31) & 8 a.m. to 1 a.m. (August 1).
- Traffic Impact: Intermittent traffic control.
- Location: 3 Avenue SW
- Description: Film crews will be working in multiple locations along 3 Avenue SW. Traffic control personnel will be on site to help direct traffic.
