The Town of High River is committed to keeping residents, businesses, and visitors informed about road closures that may affect travel throughout the community.
Road closure information will be updated as details become available. Residents and businesses directly affected by significant closures will be notified whenever possible.
Please slow down, follow all posted signage, and allow extra travel time when travelling near closure areas.
Film Notice
- Reason: Film
- Closure Dates: Friday, August 21, 2026
- Closure Times: 10 a.m. - 10 p.m.
- Traffic Impact: Intermittent traffic control & no parking
- Location: MacLeod Trail SW, 5 Avenue SW, & George Lane Park main access.
- Description: Film crews will be working in multiple locations along MacLeod Trail SW & George Lane Park. Traffic control personnel will be on site to help direct traffic.
Construction Notice
- Reason: Construction
- Closure Dates: Tuesday, August 11 to Tuesday, September 8, 2026
- Traffic Impact: Single-lane alternating traffic and sidewalk closures.
- Location: 12 Avenue SW between 8 and 9 Street SW
- Description: Partial closure of 12 Avenue SW to allow for excavation and pouring of a new concrete apron for the back lane.
Film Notice
- Closure Dates: Monday, August 31 & Tuesday, September 1, 2026
- Traffic Impact: Intermittent traffic control and parking restrictions
- Location: George Lane Park & 3 Avenue SW
- Description: Film crews will be working in multiple locations along 3 Avenue SW. Traffic control personnel will be on site to help direct traffic.
Concrete Curb Repair
- Reason: Construction
- Closure Dates: Friday, August 21 to Saturday, August 30
- Closure Times: 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.
- Traffic Impact: Northbound right-turn lane on Centre Street near Macleod Trail SW will be closed.
- Location: Centre Street near Macleod Trail SW. See map for details.
- Description: The northbound right-turn lane will be closed to facilitate concrete curb repairs. Two-way traffic will continue on Centre Street. The north access to the strip mall will be closed during construction; the south access will remain open to maintain vehicle access.
