HIGH RIVER - Seniors’ Week is almost here - and we can’t wait to celebrate! The Town of High River’s Family and Community Support Services team is pleased to coordinate daily events from June 5 – 9 that recognize the important role seniors play in our community.
Please join us in the following Seniors’ Week activities! Registration and transportation details are below.
Monday, June 5
- Coffee with Council – bring any questions, concerns, and suggestions to share with Council members about being a senior in High River
- FCSS Resource Centre (251 9 Ave SW)
- 10:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m.
- Coffee, treats and good conversation.
- Ride on our Cycling Without Age Trishaw
- FCSS Resource Centre (251 9 Ave SW)
- 10:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m.

Tuesday, June 6
- The first 50 Seniors will get a brewed coffee on us!
- Colossi’s (114 4 Ave SW)
- Starts: 7:00 a.m.
Wednesday, June 7
- Walkers Gone Wild
- Bob Snodgrass Recreation Centre
- 10:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m.
- Includes a free coffee or tea at the concession
Thursday, June 9
- Grandparents Stay & Play
- Family Centre - South entrance Charles Clark Medical Clinic (106 303 9 Ave SW)
- 9:45 a.m. to 10:15 a.m.
- Grandparents are invited bring their grandchildren (0-6 yrs old) to play games and connect with others.
Friday, June 9
- Demo Stretch & Roll with Shannon
- Bob Snodgrass Recreation Centre – Studio A
- 2:30 p.m. to 3:00 p.m.
- Demo Tai Chi with Denis
- Bob Snodgrass Recreation Centre
- 2:30 p.m. to 3:00 p.m.
- Drop-in Pickleball
- Bob Snodgrass Recreation Centre – Studio A
- Intermediate 12:30 p.m. to 2:00 p.m.
- Beginner 2:00 p.m. to 3:30 p.m.
Registration and Transportation: For High River seniors, transportation to the Family and Community Support Services (FCSS) will be provided on Monday, June 5. To register for a ride, please contact FCSS by June 2 via phone 403-652-8620.
The Town is encouraging all local businesses to take part by finding unique ways to recognize seniors this week. Post pictures, tag the Town of High River, and use #Seniorsweek! In your post, feel free to challenge other local businesses to participate!
