HIGH RIVER AB – The snowy season is just around the corner! This year, the FCSS Resource Centre has updated its Snow Angel Program to include lawn signs, helping to reduce barriers and reach more residents in need.

Need an Angel? The program runs from October 15th to April 30th every year. If you are elderly or have mobility issues that prevent you from clearing snow you can contact the FCSS office to get a Snow Angel sign for your lawn.

Be an Angel Our community needs Snow Angels! If you see a Snow Angel sign in your neighbourhood, please help by shovelling the driveway and sidewalk. Snow Angels can be anyone: adults, youth, families, etc. There is no need to sign up, just grab a shovel and help!

How does it work? After picking up a sign from the FCSS Resource Centre place it in your front yard to let people know you need help clearing snow. Community members are encouraged to look for Snow Angel signs in their neighborhood and shovel snow for those in need.

Please note that the placement of a sign does not guarantee that snow will be removed. This program does not apply for those needing snow cleared while on vacation.

Did you know? Seniors with low-income can get financial assistance through Special Needs Assistance for Seniors to help afford the cost of yard maintenance and snow removal. Contact the FCSS Resource Centre for more information, and to see if you are eligible.
