2026 Statutory Garbage Collection & Recycling Closure Schedule

We will use our website and social media platforms to inform residents of any changes to collection days before or after a statutory holiday, depending on the holiday. Please ensure bin lids are fully closed when placing them out for collection.

There may be additional unanticipated dates when the recycling centre will need to close during the year. If that happens, we will post updated information on this page and update the digital signage at the depot.

Guidelines for Effective Garbage Collection

• Set it out by 7 am and roll it back in by 8 pm
• Bag it up! Tie your garbage bags before tossing them in the cart
• Make sure lids are fully closed
• Make space by leaving about 1 meter (3 feet) around your cart
• Point the arrows to the road and keep wheels on the curb
• Keep streets and cul-de-sacs clear for the trucks
• Only your household garbage goes in your cart (not public bins)

The Town reserves the right to refuse garbage or give fines for reasons such as improperly prepared garbage, prohibited items, excessive quantities, or collection carts placed in unsafe or non-compliant locations.
