Town Announces 2021 Fall Photo Contest Winners

HIGH RIVER –Thank you to everyone who participated in the 2021 Fall Photo Contest. The Town is pleased to announce the winners in each category. The support shown by our community was outstanding. The quality of the photo submissions showcase the natural beauty of High River.
The overall winner of the Fall Photo Contest is Bernie Kolton, from the 16 and Over Category. Their landscape photo of Sunshine Lake is colourful and clear and represents the beauty and atmosphere of High River.
The judging panel was comprised of a cross section of Town staff, joined by Councillor Jenny Jones, and Councillor Brenda Walsh. The submissions were judged blindly using an anonymous ranking system. Given the quality of the photos, judging was extremely close, and we’d like to congratulate everyone for their photography talents.
The winners of the 2021 Fall Photo Contest are listed below. Each winner receives an 11X14 framed copy of their photo, gift baskets full of local delights and gift cards and of course, bragging rights! Winning photos and pictures of the winners will be featured on the Town’s website HERE. Watch for photos of the winners on the Town’s social media channels.

15 and Under
1st Place – Justin Andres
- Justin has won an 11x14 framed copy of his winning photo, a free admission pass to the Bob Snodgrass Recreation Complex, a pro-shop gift card, and his photo will be displayed on the new Highriver.ca!
16 and Over
1st Place and overall winner – Bernie Kolton
- Bernie has won an 11x14 framed copy of their winning photo, a local prize package valued at $150, their photo featured on the new Highriver.ca, and bragging rights for the 2021 Fall Photo Contest.
2nd Place – John Lockhart
- John has won an 11x14 framed copy of their winning photo, a local prize package valued at $100, and their photo featured on the new Highriver.ca
3rd Place – Becky Bilkowski
- Becky has won an 11x14 framed copy of their winning photo, a local prize pack valued at $50, and their image will be showcased on the new Highriver.ca
