High River Springs to Life with New Movement Stencils and Historical Box Wrapping

HIGH RIVER – The Town's pathways have become more educational and fun, thanks to the recent efforts of the JumpStart Grant, the Town Parks and Rec Division, the Public Works Division, and the Community Vitality Advisory Committee (CVAC). Residents and visitors can now enjoy interactive stencils on various town pathways and explore High River’s rich history through creatively wrapped utility boxes.

A Walk-Through History

High River’s utility boxes have undergone an eye-catching transformation. Over the past few weeks, utility boxes around town have been wrapped in historical photos, each telling a story of High River’s rich past. This initiative, part of the CVAC program, aims to promote and educate residents about our history using photos provided by the Museum of the Highwood. Once finished, each wrapped box will feature a QR code that, when scanned, provides additional information about the CVAC program.

Whether you are exploring the pathways or uncovering stories from the past, High River’s new additions offer a delightful experience for all.

Get Moving with New Stencils!

Public Works has started adding a series of engaging stencils along Town pathways to encourage residents of all ages to enjoy outdoor play. These vibrant and interactive designs are visually appealing and invite everyone to embrace the fun of outdoor activities. Check out these delightful additions in the following locations:

  • Bob Snodgrass Recreation Complex (BSRC): Try out the Splash Hopscotch along the pathway on 12 Avenue.
  • High River Library: Discover the Tree of Knowledge at the pathway entrance.
  • Dinosaur/Purple Park: Follow the Dino Footprints at the entrance and along the pathway.
  • Bishop Dog Park: Cross the street to the park on Dog Paw Prints.
  • Greater Foothills Family Centre: Play with the Shapes Swirl, Snail Hopscotch, and Frog Hops around the playground and side door pathway.

Embrace your inner child and enjoy playing with our outdoor stencils. These stencils are not just for kids; adults are invited to join the fun and relive the carefree days of childhood.

Get outside, get moving, and enjoy the vibrant spirit of our community this summer!
