Business Community Council 2025 Municipal Budget
HIGH RIVER - At their December 9 meeting, High River’s Town Council approved updated 2025 Rate Bylaws outlining user fees, rates and charges for municipal services. There were no changes to the Rate Bylaws last year.
A thorough review of the annual bylaws has resulted in making the information clearer for residents and businesses. In addition, improvements will provide the Town with a more effective means of implementing the bylaws.
There will now be four separate Rate Bylaws, with four schedules of rates and fees, each focusing on related services and areas of expertise provided by the Town:
New Rate Bylaws come into effect January 1, 2025 for:
- General Services: Community Support, Cemetery, Tax and Assessment, Legislative Services, Protective Services, and
- Permitting and Licenses: Safety Codes, Engineering and Development.
The Rate Bylaws for Utility and Recreation will remain in effect through April 2025:
- In April 2025 Council will review proposed changes to user fees and charges for these services, to cover costs not funded through taxation.
- If approved, new Rate Bylaws will be implemented in May 2025.
