HIGH RIVER – You've been CAUGHT doing something good!
High River RCMP and Protective Services Peace Officers are handing out Positive Tickets to children and youth who are doing great things in our community.
“High River RCMP and Protective Services Peace Officers are excited to launch the 2023 Positive Ticket program this May long weekend,” said Cst. Jill Mills, High River RCMP. “This program not only acknowledges the amazing things the youth are doing in our Town but creates an opportunity for positive relationship building between youth and the first responders in High River.”
The Positive Ticketing Program was launched in 2019, and last year over 200 tickets were handed out to children and youth caught doing some good in Town. The Positive Tickets are awarded for things like wearing a bike helmet, picking up litter, holding the door for someone, volunteering at community events, and safe driving practices. Each ticket includes a treat from a local business as a reward.
Recognizing the positive contributions of our young people is vital to building and maintaining a strong and thriving community. Positive Ticketing aims to focus on positive, preventative programming as a method of developing healthy young people within the Town of High River.
Watch for High River RCMP and Protective Services Peace Officers handing out Positive Tickets all summer in Town.
