Road Closures in Effect as High River Legion Honours the life of Queen Elizabeth II

HIGH RIVER – On September 19, the High River Royal Canadian Legion will be hosting an event to honour the life of Queen Elizabeth II.

Beginning at 10:50 a.m., a colour guard march will commence from Whales Theatre, making its way up 5 Avenue SW. The march will stop in front of the Highwood Memorial Centre, where a small ceremony will occur.

Barricades will be placed on MacLeod Trail at 4 and 5 Avenue and along 5 Avenue during the march and ceremony. Parking will be available along 1 Street SW.

Residents are asked to refrain from driving in the area while the march and ceremony are underway.

Closures are expected to remain in place for 30 minutes. Traffic will resume as usual following the ceremony.

Residents are invited to attend the ceremony to honour the life of Queen Elizabeth II.
