Town and Regional Partners Team Up for Holiday Traffic Enforcement
HIGH RIVER - The Town of High River Protective Services team, alongside our regional partners and sheriffs, will be conducting a Regional Traffic Joint Forces Operation (JFO) on Friday, December 19, 2025, from 1:00 PM to 5:00 PM at the High River Fire Hall. This coordinated effort aims to enhance road safety through high-visibility traffic enforcement heading into the holiday season.
This targeted enforcement initiative will occur throughout the Town of High River and is designed to deter traffic violations while providing a strong, visible presence on local roadways.
Objectives of the JFO Weekend
- Increase traffic safety through proactive enforcement.
- Reduce impaired, distracted and aggressive driving.
- Support community expectations for enhanced road safety during the busy holiday season.
Enforcement Focus Areas
This initiative will concentrate on key traffic safety concerns, including:
- Speeding
- Distracted driving
- Intersection safety
- Equipment violations
- Seatbelt compliance
Participating Agencies
The operation includes participation by:
- High River community peace officers
- High River RCMP
- Participating community peace officer agencies
- High River Sheriffs
Enforcement will take place at major entry points and high-traffic corridors across High River. These locations are selected to maximize visibility, encourage safe driving habits, and identify high-risk behaviours.
This Joint Forces Operation reinforces our commitment to road safety, strengthens regional partnerships, and helps ensure safer streets for everyone during this critical time of year.
