Easter Weekend Facility Closures & Garbage Collection
HIGH RIVER – Spring has sprung in High River! Read on for information on Easter weekend garbage collection and facility closures.
In observance of Good Friday, garbage collection scheduled for Friday, April 3, 2026, will be moved to Thursday, April 2, 2026.
Friday, April 3, 2026:
- If your regular collection day is Friday, please put out your garbage bin by 7:00 AM on Thursday, April 2.
Additionally, the Recycling Centre will be closed on Friday, April 3, and Monday, April 6. The Centre will remain open for regular hours on April 4 and 5.
Town Facility Closures:
Closed on Friday, April 3 (Good Friday) and Monday, April 6 (Easter Monday):
- Town Hall (Joint Administration Building)
- Greater Foothills Family Centre
- Family and Community Support Services (FCSS)
- Public Works
- Recycling Centre
- RCMP Administration Office
- Fire and Protective Services Administration Office
These closures will not impact essential services such as the Fire Department and the RCMP. In the event of an emergency, always call 9-1-1.
Bob Snodgrass Recreation Complex (BSRC):
- Friday, April 3 (Good Friday): Closed
- Saturday, April 4: 6:00 a.m. - 10:00 p.m. with the addition of Easter Candy Hunt.
- Sunday, April 5: Reduced Hours - 9:00 a.m. – 5:30 p.m.
- Monday, April 6 (Easter Monday): 6:00 a.m. - 10:00 p.m.
Easter Candy Hunt | Saturday, April 4, from 10:00 a.m. to 12:00 noon:
Hunt for Easter candy at the Recreation Complex, then enjoy activities in the Cargill Field House. Bring a basket and consider donating to Jumpstart or the Food Bank. Free admission.
