Family Day Weekend Festivities and Facility Closures on February 19

HIGH RIVER – In observance of Family Day, Town facilities will be closed on Monday, February 19.  Please note that there will be no changes to regular garbage pickup. The list of closures is below.

On Monday, February 19, the following Town facilities will be closed for Family Day. 

  • Town Office
  • Greater Foothills Family Centre
  • Family and Community Support Services (FCSS) 
  • Public Works
  • Recycling Centre
  • RCMP Administration Office
  • Fire & Protective Services Administration Offices

These closures will not impact essential Services such as the Fire Department and RCMP. In the event of an emergency always call 9-1-1.

The Bob Snodgrass Recreational Complex (BSRC) will have limited hours on Monday, February 19, only open 11:00 A.M. to 3:00 P.M.

Leading up to Family Day, our Parks and Recreation staff are hosting a weekend of family festivity! Enjoy free swimming, skating, drop-in sports and family fun at the Bob Snodgrass Recreation Complex.

Family Day weekend festivities from Saturday, February 17 to Monday, February 19, free drop-ins at the Bob Snodgrass Recreational Complex (BSRC):

  • Saturday, February 17 – 2:00 P.M. - 4:00 P.M. - Family Swim
  • Sunday, February 18 – 11:00 A.M. – 12:30 P.M. – Family Skate, Small Arena
  • Sunday, February 18 – 1:00 P.M. – 2:45 P.M. – Family Shinny, Small Arena
  • Monday, February 19 – 11:00A.M. – 3:00 P.M. – Drop-in opportunities

The festivities are free to attend. We encourage people attending to bring a Jumpstart or Food Bank Donation.
