How Do the COVID-19 Provincial Guidelines Effect the Municipal Election? The Town of High River Answers Your Questions

HIGH RIVER AB – As a response to Provincial recommendations and evolving guidelines, the Town of High River has added advanced polling dates for the 2021 Municipal Election.

Residents may now vote in advance and on Election Day at the Bob Snodgrass Recreation Complex in the Cargill Fieldhouse located at 228 12 Avenue SE. To avoid lineups, residents are encouraged to vote early during advanced polls.

As per public health Order 44-2021, the High River Municipal Election polling station is not included in the Restrictions Exemption Program (REP) and will be considered exempt for voting purposes. Therefore, voters will not be asked to show proof of vaccination to vote.

To protect the health and safety of residents, voters and election workers the Town will ensure the voting stations have reduced capacity, require physical distancing, wearing masks, providing regular sanitization of high touch surfaces and offering hand sanitizer and masks.

Residents are asked to please wear a mask, sanitize, and ensure physical distancing while voting.

Advanced polling and Election Day voting dates and times are as follows:

• Thursday, October 7 from 12:00 noon to 8:00 pm

• Friday, October 8 from 10:00 am to 6:00 pm

• Saturday, October 9 from 9:00 am to 5:00 pm

• Thursday, October 14 from 12:00 noon to 8:00 pm

• Friday, October 15 from 10:00 am to 6:00 pm

• Saturday, October 16 from 9:00 am to 5:00 pm

• Election Day: Monday, October 18 from 9:00 am to 8:00 pm
