2023 Annual Rate Bylaw – Key Rate Changes to In-Town Utilities

HIGH RIVER – At their April 24 regular meeting, High River Town Council approved Bylaw 4612/2023 - Rate Bylaw. Fees in the Rate Bylaw directly support the approved 2023 Operating Budget of $35,525 million.
A 1/2 of 1% increase (0.05%) has been applied to In-Town utility rates. The fees proposed will come into force and effect May 1, 2023, and are not retroactive.
On February 13, 2023, High River’s Town Council approved the 2023 Municipal Budget with a 2.2% tax increase and 0.5% increase in utilities. The Rate Bylaw ensures that various fees, fines, and other charges provide the Town with the financial means to offer programs and services, while maintaining a safe and caring community. This is a standard operating procedure under the Municipal Government Act. It replaces and updates the 2022 Rate Bylaw.
