HIGH RIVER – The Town is gearing up for a weekend full of signature event fun! From the Heritage Inn International Balloon Festival & Glow Night to the River City Classic’s Burnout & Show N’ Shine, thousands of visitors will be in Town to enjoy!
To keep things running smoothly, please be aware of the following temporary road closures and parking changes throughout the weekend:
Balloon Glow | Friday, September 26
- Centre Street from Sobeys to High Country Drive will be closed from 3:00 PM to 10:00 PM.
- Shuttles will run from the High River CO-OP (grocery) and the High River Rodeo Grounds to the Wallaceville Glow Site.
- Limited accessible Parking will be available along 1 Street NE. Valid permits required.
River City Classics Burnout | Saturday, September 27
- Centre Street will be closed from 7 Avenue SE to 4 Avenue SE from 10:00 AM to 6:00 PM
- Access to Centre Street from 7th Avenue, 6th Avenue, and 5th Avenue will be blocked during the event.
- Streets will reopen shortly after 6:00 PM. Please allow for minor delays during the event.
Brian Chipchase Sr. Memorial Show N’ Shine | Sunday, September 28
- Downtown streets will be closed from 5:00 AM to 5:00 PM
- Shuttle services are available from the east side of CO-OP to downtown/George Lane Park.
Additional Notes:
- Expect increased traffic delays throughout the weekend. Please allow extra travel time.
- Pathways and green spaces near launch and event sites may be temporarily restricted to ensure safety during balloon operations.
- Watch for event signage and barricades, and follow all directions provided.
