Canada Day Facility Closures, Road Closures and Festivities
HIGH RIVER – Town of High River facilities will be closed on Monday, July 1 for Canada Day. The closure will not affect garbage collection; normal pick-up will continue as scheduled.
Please drive carefully and note some road closures in these areas.
Facility Closures on Monday, July 1, include:
- Town Hall
- Family and Community Support Services
- Greater Foothills Family Centre
- Public Works Administration Building
- Recycling Centre
- High River RCMP Administration Office
- High River Fire Department Administration Office
- Bob Snodgrass Recreation Complex
Road Closures for Festivities on Monday, July 1 (see map for details):
- George Lane Park will be closed to vehicle traffic.
- 9 Street SE from 6 Avenue SE to 9 Avenue SE
- 9 Avenue SE from 9 Street SE Intersection to 12 Street SE.
- Access to 9 Avenue SE from 10 Street and 11 Street SE will be closed.
**Watch for high foot traffic in the area during festivities**
Canada Day Festivities and Fireworks:
George Lane Park: 10 a.m. - 2 p.m. (welcome special guest MC Sarah Scott)
- Entertainment by Eddie Whiskey and Friends
- Canada Day Market by Inclusion Foothills
- Okotoks Dawgs Autograph Signing (10 am - 12 pm)
- Show and Shine by River City Classic
- Food Trucks
- Balloon Twisters and more.
Emerson Lake: 9 p.m. - 11 p.m.
- Glow Party
- Food Trucks
Emergency Services are not affected by the statutory holiday closures. For all emergencies, dial 9-1-1.
