HIGH RIVER, AB: Starting on Monday, July 26, the Town of High River will be performing maintenance work on the Centre Street Bridge.
Residents will experience minor traffic stops as the bridge will be down to single lane alternating traffic for the duration of this project. Traffic controls will be present during construction.
The maintenance work will include painting, railing extensions to the current handrails, and refurbishment of the bearing. It is expected that the maintenance work will extend the service life of the bridge by 25 years if regular maintenance is continued.
Council has decided to hold the line on 2021 taxes to ease the financial burden on residents. However, the Town continues with its focus on Strategic Priorities. This project is one of the approved capital projects for 2021.
The Town anticipates this project to be finished by late September. Updates will be posted for any road closures or traffic disruptions. Residents are asked to obey all traffic signs when approaching and crossing Center Street Bridge.
