Community
(High River, AB) Every year, High River’s Family and Community Support Services (FCSS) proudly supports local initiatives through the Community Grant Program, providing conditional funding to organizations that make a positive impact by addressing community needs.
FCSS brings together a dedicated Community Grant Task Force to review applications and identify social service programs that create the greatest impact. This year, the following organizations received funding to support community needs listed below: BGC of the Foothills, Christ the Redeemer and Foothills Schools Divisions, Foothills Community Immigrant Services, Foothills County Hospice, Inclusion Foothills, Rowan House’s Prevention Programming, Solace Grief Support, Wellspring, and Wild Rose Community Connections:
- Supports for children & youth
- Mental health programming
- Supports for dads and families
- Volunteer programming
- Programs to address isolation and increase connection
- Healthy relationships
Social service programs seeking FCSS funding must align with municipal priorities and meet the criteria stated in the Family and Community Support Services Act. Applications are accepted annually in late November for funding in the following year.
Together, we are building a better tomorrow for the residents of High River!
