The Greater Foothills Family Centre (GFFC) in High River offers a diverse range of free programs and services to families throughout their network area.

These programs focus on the early childhood years, spanning from infancy to 12 years old including parent/child programming for 0-6-year-olds and Kids Club for 7-12-year-olds. Additionally, the centre provides various supports aimed at enhancing parenting and caregiving skills, along with offering social supports and resources.

Parenting is a tough job, it's okay to ask for help! The dedicated team at the centre is here to support you in your role as a parent or caregiver through a variety of parent education programs. These programs include: One on One Supports, Stepping Stones for families with a child with disabilities, FEAR-less, Transitions for Separation and Divorce and new to our centre, Baby Triple P focusing on preparing for baby and transitioning to the first year with baby.

“Empowering families and building strong connections is at the heart of what we do” says Family Resource Network Coordinator Michelle Kessel. “By providing accessible programs and support services, we aim to foster resilience, promote well-being, and create a supportive network where families can thrive.”

The GFFC operates through a 'hub and spoke' model of service delivery. They work to coordinate with partner programs, providing services within a network area that covers High River, Foothills County, Diamond Valley, Nanton, Claresholm, Stavely, Vulcan and Vulcan County. Services are offered directly by GFFC, or through collaborative partnerships with the following partner programs (also called spokes):

  • BGC Foothills – Youth Resource Centre
  • Claresholm FCSS
  • Foothills Community Counselling
  • Wild Rose Community Connections
  • Rainbow Literacy & Learning Society

Registration for May programs opens today, April 19th. Programs fill up fast, we encourage you to register online today to secure your spot.
