Community Sports & Fitness Parks & Recreation COVID-19

High River – The Town of High River thanks everyone for their patience as we wait for clarification regarding the province’s recent COVID-19 announcement. Our goal is to continue to provide a high level of service to residents with minimal disruption. However some changes to recreation programming will begin next week to ensure compliance with Alberta Health Services’ requirements.

  • Facemasks and physical distancing are mandatory in all Town facilities and all indoor public spaces. This includes attendance at any scheduled events at the Bob Snodgrass Recreation Centre.
  • The Town is working to implement the Restricted Exemption Program (REP) soon so that are users can continue to enjoy our facility as they have. We will provide more information as we receive clarification from the province. In the meantime, a short-term plan is in place and we are making sure to align the staff and resources we need to respond to all requirements in the near future.
  • Until we can implement the REP, all in person adult recreation programming and drop in sessions will be cancelled beginning Monday, September 20. To help facilitate access to fitness and recreation, BSRC will offer household bookings for the pool, fieldhouse and arena at a reduced rate. Bookings can be made by our website or by contacting our Parks and Recreation Staff. Under 18 programming will continue with adherence to recently announced AHS guidelines. More information about booking a facility is on the Town’s website.

Our Parks and Recreation staff remind everyone that their fantastic virtual programming will continue with it’s fun and important programming for all ages. Please visit the Town’s social media, the Parks and Recreation Facebook page and the Town’s COVID-19 Updates web page for updated information and announcements.

The Town is responsible to implement all public health orders once posted with guidance documents in place. We encourage everyone to follow the AHS protocols during the declared Provincial Health Emergency including wearing a facemask and physical distancing.
