Town Sharing 2025 Street Sweeping Schedule & Tips
HIGH RIVER - As warmer weather arrives, the Public Works Division is gearing up for the seasonal cleanup of boulevards, islands, and bridges. Residential street sweeping will run from April 7 until early June 2025.
To keep residents informed, signage will be placed on road shoulders when crews are working in residential areas, reminding residents to move their vehicles before the street sweeper arrives.
2025 Street Sweeping Schedule (Weather Permitting):
- Hamptons & Sunshine Lake | April 7 – 22
- Montrose, SE/NE Central & Emerson Lake | April 23 – May 6
- Southwest | May 7 – 21
- Northwest | May 22 – June 6
Crews will focus on each area for about two weeks. If an area is completed ahead of schedule, crews will move on to the next location.
Be Proactive – Help Us Keep Our Streets Clean!
To assist with the cleanup, we encourage residents to sweep loose gravel from in front of their homes into a pile at the side of their driveway. When the street sweeper passes through, it will collect the pile.
Alternatively, the High River Recycling Centre has a dedicated gravel recycling box. Bring your loose gravel and help us repurpose it for next year's street sweeping!
Keep Gravel Out of Garbage Bins – Protect Our Trucks & Prevent Delays:
We kindly ask that residents avoid placing loose gravel or sand in their garbage bins. These materials can slip through the truck and damage the compactors, leading to excessive wear and tear. This not only increases maintenance costs but can also delay garbage collection.
Instead, please place sand in piles at the end of your driveway for pickup or take loose gravel to the High River Recycling Centre. Your cooperation helps keep our trucks running smoothly and ensures timely service.
We're Here to Help!
If you have any questions or concerns about street sweeping, feel free to contact the Roads Supervisor, David Kennedy, at 403-603-3541.
Thank you for helping keep High River clean and beautiful!
